Abstract:
This article, narrated in the first person, aims to reveal one way for a person living within a disabled body to become aware of and embrace themselves as a political subject. My embodied experiences in reading, writing and editing accessible digital publications work as technologies that enabled this process of emancipation and allowed me to exert political impact in various spaces. The wild and the disca support a political stance that challenges mainstream views of disability challenging the status quo imposed by the capitalist system. The insights expressed in this text constitute a theoretical, epistemic, and literary contribution to critical disability studies—the field of knowledge to which I subscribe.
