Abstract:

This article develops some reflections drawn from academic research revolving around Latin American social processes in the twentieth century. An overview of the notions of modernity, socialism and capitalism aims to reveal the colonial components of those paradigms and to develop new lines of critical thought in the field of Latin American transformative action. The thought of authors such as Walter Benjamin, Ernst Bloc, Karl Marx, Rosa Luxemburg and Jürgen Habermas is reviewed. This articles addresses the question: How can we decolonize revolution in this new century?
