Abstract

This article analyzes the pivotal role of peasant women in economy, highlighting their contribution to agricultural and social development. Despite representing a significant portion of agricultural labor force, women endure precarious working conditions, lack of recognition, and limited access to resources, education, and basic services. Relentless social and cultural barriers increase gender inequalities and hinder their empowerment. Despite those challenges, they can afford opportunities, such as access to training programs, microloans, support networks, and innovative technologies. This research work highlights the need to promote public policies that guarantee women labor rights, gender equality, and their active participation in decision-making. Contributing to women’s empowerment not only improves their quality of life but also strengthens their communities’ social and economic sustainability.
