Abstract:

The present paper analyses the ways various authors present the concept of device; hence it is about invisibilizing several points of convergence and approach to this concept. Our proposal is to view a way of reading and/or analyzing reality that allows to think a «device» as a methodological element, and acknowledges Michel Foucault’s place in it, in that for him a device is a network that can be established between a heterogeneous set of elements including discourses, institutions, rules, laws, administrative measures, scientific statements, philosophical and moral clauses; which always has a strategic concrete function to do, and that is always involved in a power relation.

Keywords: Device, subject, power, knowledge, truth, subjectivity.
