Abstract:

This paper describes how alter ego is built in a social worker’s action project, based heavily on Alfred Schütz and Berger & Luckmann’s phenomenological social science, since it is focused in life world, as the most immediate instance to catch the Other’s flow. The issue under study here, giving rise to this paper, adopted a phenomenological approach in describing how alter ego is built in a preconceived social intervention project, departing from social workers’ accounts on their professional intervention.

Keywords: phenomenology, alter ego, time, flow, awareness, social intervention.
